CALL TO ACTION
New Horizons needs your help!

New Horizons has played an important role in our community for almost 50 years, providing 17 programs, social engagement, well-being exercise, and intellectual stimulation for 188 mature adults (50+). It provides vital event space for local residents and businesses. The Hornby Denman Health Care Society runs its Elder Care Program there once a week, year-round. We provide support for the Vancouver Island Regional Library, Hornby Island Community Archives and Fabricators. Together, these activities bring approximately 4,500 people through the building each year.
New Horizons Urgently Needs Your Help. The current deck and stairs are in poor condition, with a rotting structure and unsafe railings. This area also serves as an emergency fire exit. Losing this exit could force the building to close.
We are asking for your donation to help fund these urgent improvements.
Replacing the deck, stairs, and railings will restore safe access, improve emergency egress, and help ensure the building can continue serving the community for years to come.
Your donation will keep New Horizons serving Hornby Island. Many people who
rely on New Horizons live on low or fixed incomes. Your support will help keep this
welcoming and inclusive space open and accessible to those who need it most.
Our goal is $25,000, and we have already raised $865.00. As a registered charity,
New Horizons will issue tax receipts for donations of $25 and over. Every gift, large or small, will help complete this important safety and accessibility project. We have been unsuccessful in grant applications.
Please consider making a donation today.
